Wow, winter is nearly over! (or summer for you southern hemisphere peeps)

Well, peeps. It's been a long winter here in the US. Glad it's finally winding down.

I want to thank you folks that have stuck with us lately. We appreciate you adding to the diversity and content of our network.

There are a few updates that we'll be working on over the next few weeks - mainly updating our IRC servers and services, and securing things a bit more.

One thing I would like to see is for more people to become active in the forums and other areas of the site. We really need to get this site, and our IRC network, more lively. If you have suggestions or ideas as to how to do this, please let us know!

Anyway, I really only did this so that the "Season's Greetings" news topic wasn't still up at the top. It's a bit late for that =p

Christmas Spirit!

Well, with christmas rapidly approaching, I decided it was time to get into the christmas spirit and make the site a little more festive. If you're not in the festive kind of mood, or you just prefer the old theme, it can be changed via the Your Account module.

Updates

Over the past few days I have been applying updates and patches to various parts of the site. Everything seems to have gone well but if anyone does notice any part of the site not looking/working as it should, could you please let me know by grabbing me on IRC so that i can rectify the problem.

The FAQ is up with some basic information on connecting and using our IRC network, I hope to add more to this as we go on, feel free to email me with any suggestions that you may have.

New Admin

DaZeD will now be handling the day to day administration of the Xevion IRC website. I'll still be around but don't have the time to deal with the site as well as the other things on my plate atm.

So, Staff, please give DaZeD any help he should ask for regarding the site.

Radio Stream Update

I will now be broadcasting the radio stream using AAC+V2. This change allows me to broadcast at a 48kb/s bitrate but it will sound nearly as good as 128kb MP3.

This new stream type is currently only natively supported by WinAmp or VLC. (VLC is my personal preference so far.) You can also download a Windows Media Player plugin here that will allow you to listen with Windows Media Player.

Immigration

Immigration really is a hot topic in the US right now. Sort of wondering what you people think about the situation - and I mean everyone. Those in the US and those outside of the US.

The US truly is a land of immigrants, but then again, so is every nation in the world to some extent or another...

Throwing a topic up in the forums and would like to see what people think of the situation and current legislative discussions.

Well, we finally have the forums activated. We'll be adding more categories and forums as we go along.

Please leave Terry a message if you would like to have a forum for your IRC channel/room. Channel forums will ONLY be created at the request of the channel/room founder. The founder will have moderator access to their forum.
